If you plan on selling multiple items online on a regular basis, you probably need an online store. That's also called a 'Shopping Cart' or it is called E-commerce.

It is a set of webpages that will display your products, including pictures, descriptions, prices and options. A potential customer can select an item, select how many they want, with what options, and click that he wants to put it in his shopping 'basket' or 'cart'. I.e. he can move around to different parts of the store and pick up products he probably wants, just like in a real store. Then, when he's done he goes to 'Checkout' where he's asked for his information, name, address, contact information, unless we already have it. And he puts in his credit card information, usually in a more secure page, and the system electronically gets the transaction authorized by a credit card processor. And if everything is fine, we tell him that the order is confirmed and give it a number. And we can then ship the items.

You probably knew all that, as online shopping is an integral part of our lives nowadays. But, just in case you didn't.
